IT BEGINS WITH A KISS
|
|
Fiona
Ferguson wants nothing more than to flee Miss
Lavinia Chase's Finishing School in this short
story by Eileen Dreyer, author of the Drake's
Rakes series. Rather than the safe haven the girls'
families presume it to be, the school is intent
on making its charges conform to the rules-by
any means necessary. For Fiona, the only thing
worse than staying at the dreaded "Last Chance
Academy" would be abandoning the friends
she's made there. But when she receives word from
home that her sister is in trouble, Fiona plots
her escape . . .
A devoted spy
in service to the Crown, Alex Knight takes his
duties very seriously. His latest assignment-to
ensure that the incorrigible Fiona remain safely
at school-turns out to be far more of a challenge
than he expected. After matching wits with the
fiery Scottish beauty, he learns that the greatest
danger of all . . . begins with a kiss.

ALWAYS A TEMPTRESS
|
|
Major
Sir Harry Lidge has done his duty. After losing
too many good men in battle he's ready to live
a life free of care. But first he has one last
mission: kidnap the most outrageous woman in London
- the same woman who betrayed him nearly a decade
earlier - and find out what she's concealing before
her secrets take down the crown.
Surrounded
by ardent admirers and a few loyal friends, Lady
Kate Seaton glides through the ton armed with
nothing but coture gowns and bon mots. No one
suspects that beneath her lighthearted facade
lies a sorrow so scandalous she'll do anything
to keep it hidden.
But only
when she trusts Harry with the truth can she begin
to heal. And only when Harry trusts her with his
heart can he protect both his country and the
woman he loves. |
NEVER A GENTLEMAN
|
|
Miss
Grace Fairchild is under no illusions about her
charms. Painfully plain, she is a soldier's daughter
who has spent her life being useful, not learning
the treacherous ways of the ton. She may have
been caught in a scandal with society's favorite
rogue, but how can she marry him when it means
losing herself?
Diccan
Hilliard doesn't know which of his enemies drugged
him and dumped him in Grace's bed, but he does
know the outcome. He and Grace must marry. To
his surprise, a wild, heady passion flares between
them. Yet Diccan is trapped in a deadly game of
intrigue grace knows nothing about.
Will his
lies destroy Grace just as he realizes how desperately
he needs her? And how can he hope for a future
with her, when an old enemy has set his murgerous
sights on them both?

| BARELY A LADY
|

|
Olivia Grace has
secrets that could destroy her. One of the greatest
of these is the Earl of Gracechurch, who married
and divorced her five years earlier. Abandoned
and disgraced, Grace has survived those years
at the edge of respectability. Then she stumbles
over Jack on the battlefield of Waterloo, and
he becomes an even more dangerous secret. For
not only is he unconscious, he is clad in an enemy
uniform.
But worse, when Jack finally
wakes in Olivia's care, he can't remember how
he came to be on a battlefield in Belgium. In
fact, he can remember nothing of the last five
years. He thinks he and Olivia are still blissfully
together. To keep him from being hanged for a
traitor, Olivia must pretend she and Jack are
still married.
To unearth the real traitors,
Olivia and Jack must unravel the truth hidden
within his faulty memory. To save themselves and
the friends who have given them sanctuary, they
must stand against their enemies, even as they
both keep their secrets.
In the end, can they risk everything
to help Jack recover his lost memories, even though
the truth may destroy them both?

Yes, you've heard about it on the blogs, you've seen it on the billboards. Jenny Cruise, Anne Stuart and I (that's the Eileen Dreyer I) decided (because we were temporarily insane) that it would be a great idea to write a book together. Not just any book. A book where we write our own characters and then weave the scenes together to a seamless whole. And make it funny. And sexy(wait til you read Anne's Elric the Magnificent. Yum). And maybe a bit scary.
Okay, it started as a joke.
I said I was going to write an erotic paranormal
with a shapeshifter. Except the shapeshifter is
the oldest virgin in North America, because every
time she tried to have sex, she shifted into…..the
guy's mother. You can just imagine how the idea
got out of control when Jenny and Anne jumped
in. We have three sisters: Dee(mine), Lizzie(Anne's)
and Mare(Jenny's), and each has her own problem
to solve, her own love to find, and an aunt in
common to torment them all.

On
February 20th, trauma nurse Kate Manion
has the rare opportunity to see her own
hospital from the other side. Badly injured
in an auto accident, she lands in her own
ICU. She's strapped down, paralyzed and
unconscious. And yet, somehow she manages
to kill her nurse, the aptly named Attila
the Buns.
It's an accident; Kate swears. It isn't
an accident when murders keep happening.
Someone in the hospital has taken Kate's
act as a mandate to kill off the CEOs and
supervisors who make life so difficult for
a staff struggling to give good patient
care in a new world of corporate medicine.
But as the corpses pile up, Kate realizes
she alone can bring a halt to the work of
a serial killer. A serial killer who is
acting out the fantasy of every staff member
at St. Simon's Hospital. A serial killer
who could be one of Kate's closest friends.
With only burned out forensic pathologist
B.J. O'Brien for help, Kate has to wade
through greed, politics, secrets and suspicion
to unearth a murderer she doesn't want to
find. And she has to find him—or her—before
he strikes too close to home.

BRAIN DEAD

When
forensic nurse Timmie Leary-Parker returns
home from the street wars of LA to care
for her ailing father, she knows that life
back in Puckett, Missouri will be a great
change for her. She is prepared for the
slow pace, the small-town politics and the
feeling that everyone knows her business.
She even adapts to the mom-and-pop emergency
department where she now works. If she can
find a safe home for her daughter and treatment
for her father’s Alzheimers, she will
tolerate almost anything.
That is, until she begins to suspect that
a serial killer is walking the halls of
her hospital. Patients in the hospital’s
Restcrest Alzheimer’s Unit are dying
in unprecedented numbers, and old age isn’t
answer enough. No one in town wants to investigate.
Bad publicity could ruin the town’s
most lucrative business, and the primary
suspect is its golden-boy director. But
Timmie has no choice. Restcrest is the only
place that can keep her father safe from
his disease. The question is, will it keep
him safe from a murderer?
In her search for answers, Timmie turns
to burned-out Pulitzer-winning reporter
Daniel Murphy, who wants nothing more than
peace and quiet. Instead, the two of them
find themselves sinking into a morass of
corruption and greed that puts at risk all
Timmie holds dear.

IF LOOKS COULD KILL

Chris
Jackson has secrets. A wildly popular author
of suspense novels, she hides away in the
tiny town of Pyrite, Missouri, where she
resides in an old converted storefront and
practices breaking-and-entering on local
businesses. The town has adopted her as
one of its eccentrics, like Victor and Lester,
the town’s resident ventriloquist.
And Chris is careful to protect that position.
She knows she would never be welcome if
the town knew the truth about her past.
Most of the citizens of Pyrite, happy to
claim their very own celebrity, don’t
think to question her. Brand new police
chief Al MacNamara, transplanted from the
mean streets of Chicago, isn’t one
of them. He hates mysteries, and Chris Jackson
is a mystery.
And then, the murders begin. Murders that
shatter the little town Chris has come to
love. Murders that look suspiciously like
those in Chris’s books. Murders that
escalate to a grisly stabbing that exactly
mimics a story no one could have seen but
Chris herself.
Chris can no longer hide. With MacNamara’s
help, she is forced to delve into the darkest
recesses of her past to expose a murderer,
a past that is even darker than the streetwise
MacNamara could imagine. Does Chris know
the murderer? Is a madman stalking her?
Or is Chris right to question her own sanity?
Could Chris be committing the murders herself?

seen her sister Faith. But now, Faith needs her

Orleans, and Chastity has to find her. Along the
way she battles her own demons in a city where
forensics is an old boy's club and a woman can
find trouble in her sleep. She has to investigate
fertility clinics, the powers of St. Roch, and
the mysteries of voodoo to find her sister. As
a hurricane threatens New Orleans, Chastity puts
more than her life on the line to rescue her sister
from the threat that stalks them both...

HEAD GAMES
IN STORES NOW!

 |
HEAD
GAMES is the sequel to BAD
MEDICINE, which introduced death investigator\trauma
nurse Molly Burke.
In HEAD
GAMES, Molly finds that no good deed ever
goes unpunished, when a child she tried to save
from abuse years ago, finds her again now that
he's a full-fledged serial killer. He's leaving
her his trophies. To make matters even more complicated,
Molly's brother leaves her his sixteen-year-old
son to watch, who seems to have left a string
of "incidents" in his wake. The reason I decided
to write HEAD GAMES
is because, after the extensive research I've
done on the subject, I'm tired of serial killers
being portrayed as the monsters under the bed.
Every serial killer is someone's child. Which,
I believe, is a far more frightening concept.
After you meet the serial killer in HEAD
GAMES , I'd like to hear whether you agree
with me or not. |
